As my career has progressed I have moved "upstream" in the product design process. Hover over each company to see how I have been able to contribute in each stage of the process.

As the first full-time ME I got to wear many hats at this small startup. I drew from my experience in the factory at Microsoft and brought up the production of wireless headphones from the prototype stage to the validation stage of hundereds of units. I was the owner of plastic injection-molded housings, die-cut adhesives & fabrics, 2D drawings with GD&T, and production bringup (assembly flow, instructions, fixtures and troubleshooting).

At Ossia I work side-by-side with Electrical and RF Engineers to showcase what is possible with true wireless power transmission technology. Our team uses low-volume prototypes to demonstrate different form factors and environments that wireless power transmission can be deployed. As Mechanical technical lead I own the architecture, fabrication, sourcing and assembly of our wireless power transmitters.

2019-Present

At Pensar I worked with Industrial Designers and Electrical Engineers to form concepts, sketches, and renders of how client requirements could be transformed into products. This included group brainstorms and competitor product research. We then down-selected to a few concepts to create cosmetic and functional prototypes.

2018-2019

As a Product Engineer I got to experience parts coming together in high volume, the pitfalls of first-generation products, and how business is conducted in Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers. I worked alongside many talented team members to launch numerous Surface and Microsoft-branded hardware products including the Surface Book (v1), Laptop (v1), Surface Dial, and Microsoft Band (v1). With a focus on repair and manufacturability, my position helped me develop a foundation for future roles to design with the end product in mind.
